We officially release the firmware (F/W) for UTM-30LX, Scanning Laser Range Finder.

By updating the F/W, URG users approved by Hokuyo will be able to conduct more functions and improve the sensor's characteristics. Under certain conditions, there is a risk that the functions and characteristics could be worsened. We intend to modify the firmware with speedy circles as bugs may exist in the beta version. Once the F/W is updated, you may not necessarily get the sensor back to its former state (functions and characteristics). The sensor would not be restarted if errors by noise or miss-procedure occurred. In that case, the sensor must be sent back to the manufacturer for repairing, all cost including shipment fee should be on customers' expense. We require certain days to repair.

In the case of having a negative result from updating the F/W, customers are responsible for all kinds of damage. Reverse engineering and indirect distribution of the F/W are not allowed.
