Is it possible to substitute the software of UAM to UST or URM?
I am using UAM in ROS, but if I change the model to UST or URM, is it possible to substitute the software as it is?
UAM communication specifications include SCIP and UAM commands, if the customer is using the UAM command in urg_node, the software cannot be used as it is.
In urg_node, if you are suing SCIP, the measurement command is compatible with other sensor models and the software can be also used as it is.
However, there are some differences in measurement specifications (resolution, measurable distance, etc.) between UAM and other models.
Depending on the measurement parameters used, it may be necessary to change it.
Also, there are some measurement specifications that cannot be adjusted to UAM. As an example,other models cannot match the UAM measurement cycle of 30 [ms] and will use either UST 25 [ms] or URM 25 [ms] or 50 [ms].
However, since the same surrounding environment is measured many times in map generation, it is assumed that these differences in specifications will not be a big issue.
If you expect the exact same, please be aware of the differences in measurement specifications.
