Displacement sensor
What is a displacement sensor?
A displacement sensor (displacement meter) is a type of sensor that measures the distance from a sensor to an object, and measures the amount of movement (displacement) when an object moves from one position to another based on the measured position information.
Features and intended use
Displacement sensors often have higher precision than general photoelectric sensors, and are used for the purpose of measuring minute changes.
For example, it is used for measuring dimensions such as height, thickness, and width of workpieces, measuring the outer shape of mass-produced products, and selecting acceptable and unacceptable products such as warpage and flatness.
