Contact output
What is contact output (contact output)?
Unlike semiconductor relays such as transistors, this output controls the ON / OFF of signals using a mechanical relay that mechanically opens and closes contacts.
Operating principle of mechanical relay
The contacts of a mechanical relay move the contacts by using the magnetic force generated by applying an electric signal to the built-in coil.
The state in which an electric signal is given to the coil is called excitation.
Contact type a Contact
The type of contact that is connected by exciting the coil when the contact is open without giving an electric signal to the coil of the mechanical relay is called an a contact.
In addition, it may be called by N.O (Normal Open) or make contact.
Contact type b Contact
The type of contact that opens when the contact is closed by exciting the coil without giving an electric signal to the coil of the mechanical relay is called b contact. In addition, NC (Normal Close) or break contact is used.
Contact type c Contact
A contact that has two contacts, one in which the contacts are closed and the other in which the contacts are connected without giving an electric signal to the coil of the mechanical relay, is called a c contact.
